Macron will visit Gironde region this afternoon

France's Gironde region has been badly hit by this summer's wave of wildfires French President Emmanuel Macron is heading to wildfire-hit Gironde region this afternoon, the presidential palace has said. Macron will meet local officials, firemen and emergency services during his visit, where he plans to thank them.
