While the defence team admits that there is no evidence suggesting that the jurors communicated with other parties when they stayed in the same hotel, they highlighted that the lodging accident happened during the week of jury deliberation - which is the "most critical stage of the trial". After a bit more back and forth, the defence is moving on to another ground of appeal.
