Yogita LimayeAfghanistan correspondent It has been evident to us for a long time that there are divisions within the Taliban government on the issue of women’s education. Off camera, many Taliban officials we have met, including senior leaders, have confessed that they would like schools and universities to be reopened for female students. But the Kandahar-based emir, or supreme leader, has remained intransigent and over the years has hardened his stance bringing more restrictions against women.
