Canada to spend C$11bn on new icebreaker fleet

Carney announces that his government will spend C$11bn ($7.95bn) to build a new fleet of icebreakers for the Canadian Coast Guard. Six ice breakers will be built in total by Quebec shipbuilder Chantier Davie using Canadian steel, he says. They will replace the Coast Guard's ageing heavy and medium icebreakers.
