Berlin welcomes 'hopeful news' of Hamas disarmament agreement

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul says he welcomes the "hopeful news" of the agreement reached between Trump's Board of Peace and Hamas. "It is now key that real progress is made and Hamas actually disarms," he writes on X, adding that Hamas "must never again pose a threat to Israel". He adds that Germany "stands ready to support the people of Gaza with humanitarian aid".
