What do these typhoon names mean?

Typhoons get their names from a list compiled by the World Meteorological Organization, a specialised agency of the UN. The names are submitted by member countries. Some names, like Dolphin, are in English. Some are in the local language. Chan-hom, is a Laotian tree while Peilou is a migratory bird in Macau. Nangka is the Malaysian name for jackfruit. There are countries like the Philippines, that give local names, on top of the typhoon's international name because of the sheer number of storms
