Madrid wildfires shut down Nasa facility

Nasa says the fires have "passed through" its Madrid Deep Space Communications Complex. "Any potential damage will be assessed when it is safe to do so," the US space agency said, adding its staff had been "safely evacuated". The facility is located in Robledo de Chavela, around 37 miles (65km) west of central Madrid. It is one of three sites in the deep space network which allow Nasa to communicate with spacecraft. The other two are in California and Canberra - tho
