Wildfires have burnt 98,000 hectares since start of year - French Interior Ministryreaking

Around 98,000 hectares of land have burned across France since the start of the year, the country's interior ministry tells the BBC. It adds that 40,000 hectares have been burnt in the Gironde region alone since January.
