Mum told not to leave holiday home after sleeping through evacuation order

A French-American mother has described how "there was ash falling from the sky like snow" after a wildfire broke out near her holiday home in Biscarrosse, south-west France. Rebecca Papin tells the BBC's Today programme she saw "an entire wall of fire" when she returned to her home after first seeing smoke in the distance from a nearby beach. Papin says since the fire did not seem close on Thursday night she put her "exhausted" children to bed and got some rest to p
