Parakeets sing as eclipse hits its peak in Greenwich

Nick JohnsonReporting from Royal Observatory, Greenwich All eyes are skyward at the astronomer’s garden at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich. Parakeets in Greenwich Park have begun their evening song. I’m playing around with a metal colander - projecting the sun’s image on to a piece of paper. There is a beautiful "mellow yellow" feeling to the sky mirrored on the ground, perhaps aided by the parched straw of the hot dry grass.
