Crowds gather at Armagh Observatory in Northern Ireland to watch the spectacle

Sharon Walsh and her daughter Mia have travelled up from Dublin to the observatory, with Sharon saying she wanted to mark the event. “There won’t be another one until 2090 and I’ll probably be dead by then,” she jokes. "So it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing."
