Authorities confirm one dead following the earthquake

Indonesia's Joint Search and Rescue Team (SAR) said the massive 7.7 magnitude earthquake caused a building to collapse, killing a 54-year-old woman. "Two other people were injured," Fathur Rahman, head of the Maumere SAR Office, said. Search and rescue teams have deployed to multiple areas hit by the earthquake. Earlier, officials from the national disaster management agency said they were looking into reports that two people had died.
